Igbo Presidency Is Realistic With Biafra And Not In Nigeria Says A Renown Professor In Jerusalem

Sunday, March 05, 2017
No matter how they try, the Igbo are unlikely to achieve their aim of producing the president of Nigeria, according to Professor Nabi Coz Chaim Nwoye of Hebrew History and Etymology Department of Corner Stone University, Jerusalem.

The Igbo, he said, can only be president of Biafra if it ever becomes a reality. “Igbo man can only be a president of Biafra. I do not see the Igbo in the Presidency of Nigeria. Any Igbo man who wishes to contest to be president of Nigeria is on his own.
There will be no room for the Igbo man in the Presidency of Nigeria”, Nwoye, also the leader (Chief Rabbi) of Jewish Bet Knesset in Africa and hails from Ebonyi State, told Sunday Vanguard. Prof. Nwosu Former President Olusegun Obasanjo had only recently called for the concession of the presidency of Nigeria in 2019 to the Igbo of the South-East as it is the only geo-political zone in the country that is yet to produce the president. Speaking on the agitation for Biafra by some elements in the South-East, the professor ruled out the actualisation of the move unless it was supported by world powers like the United States, China, Germany and Israel. The Chief Rabbi said Nigeria needs a revolution to ensure that those who looted the nation’s treasury are made to pay for it.

Igbos are in great danger in Nigeria – Ohanaeze Ndigbo

Monday, February 27, 2017
President-General of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Nnia Nwodo, has said that the Igbo people are in grave danger in Nigeria.Nwodo also called for prayers for the Igbo people to change the situation and challenges faced by them.

Nwodo was quoted to have spoken, during the weekend, at a church service in his honour by the Knights of St. John at St. Mulumba Catholic Church in New Haven, Enugu.

Nwodo said it was important that other ethnic groups understand the peculiarity of challenges faced by the Igbo.

He said: “I dedicate myself completely to all the supplication as offered in the Mass. I ask Ndigbo wherever they are to pray collectively for all of us.”

We are in dire straight, we are in very grave situation. I also ask that we pray for other Nigerians to understand our peculiar circumstances, understand our case and give us once more a hand of fellowship in a united Nigeria,” Nwodo said.

Also speaking at the event, President of the Commandery services of the New Haven Gilbert Obu said Nwodo is a member of Commandery.

He said the Commandary have decided to honour him for this reason.

“We thank God for Ohanaeze for our checkered history,” Obu said.

“We know that this is a man whom God has groomed like David in the Bible. We know that he will take Igbo to higher heights. What he needs is prayers and support every Igboman can give him.

“We expect so much from him in Nigeria contest, as you can see Igbo have not gotten anything now. All the commanders of armed forces, the police, there is no Igboman.

So, we want to make an impact for Nigerians to know that Igbo are here to stay because we are part of Nigeria. We should be given the right position,” he said.

2019: Ekwueme urges Igbos to run for presidency

Wednesday, February 15, 2017
AHEAD of the 2019 presidential election, former Vice-President of Nigeria, Dr. Alex Ekwueme has urged Igbos in the country to strive for the presidency. Ekwueme stated this in Calabar, the Cross River State capital, when he attended the child dedication of the family of Chief and Lolo Chukwuemeka Egwuonwu (KSM) Ochubaradikeohia II of Awa who dedicated their daughter, Favour Chimamanda, at St. Bernard Catholic Church, Calabar. Ekwueme, who spoke with newsmen after the child dedication said,

“I was vice president up till December 1983 and by the old National Party of Nigeria, NPN, order, and I would have contested for the number one position in 1987, but the military intervened in 1983 and the civilian regime was cut short. “I tried again in 1998 and (Olusegun) Obasanjo was released from prison, and he came and won, supported by his colleagues in the military. I tried again in 2003 and the same thing happened. I pray that the other people (Igbos) can take it up from there and make progress.”

On the health issue of President Muhammadu Buhari, Ekweme asked Nigerians to pray for Buhari and for peace in the country. “We have conflicting reports about the President’s health. The Minister of Information says he is hale and hearty, but his wife says we should pray for him. So, if he is hale and hearty I don’t why she said we should pray for him. Whatever it is, we ask God to look after him. We want Nigeria to be at peace and to make progress and see how we can get out of our present difficulties. “We really need prayers. We are in great difficulty. People are suffering. There is hunger in the land and it is not very encouraging. So, we need God’s intervention to help usget out of it,” Ekweme said. President of Ohanaeze in Anambra, Chief Damian Okeke Ogene, speaking on the Igbos presidency said, “An Igbo presidency is overdue but as far as I am concerned, it is not something that is coming out now. Our national President, Chief Nnia Nwodo is going to make the stand of Ohaneze known as regards the presidency.

Igbo presidency is long overdue whether it is 2019 or 2023, our own national President will make our stand known. “Agitation for Biafra is a way of expressing justice, fairness and equity which is lacking. If there is justice, fairness and equity, the whole world can be one country. It is because of injustice people say we can be on our own. As far as I am concerned, immediately after the war, the Gowon administration said three Rs and we believe in three Rs, reconciliation and reconciliation, reconstruction and none of them has taken place. It looks like to us, the war has not ended.”

On the continued detention of Nnandi Kanu, he said: “We are all human beings and we are not ready to shed any blood, it is not necessary and we have advised our own youths and our own son whether IPOB or MASSOB, what they are saying we are part of how to address the injustice but for violence we are not part of it. We advised the federal government that you do not use a sledge to kill a millipede. It is not when you child demands school fees and you kill him because he demanded school fees. Our youths are demanding justice, equity and fairness and they should not be killed. “You and I here cannot release Kanu, the courts have said release Kanu but the powers that be is beyond and me and we. Have been saying leave this young man, give him to us and we will manage them.

Secret Trial Cancelled, Media Blackout Cancelled, Justice Nyako Blasts FG's Failure To Produce Evidence Against Kanu, Others

Friday, January 13, 2017

By Paul Ihechi Alagba

The trial of the leader of Indigenous People of Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu and three other Biafran activists who are being held by the Nigeria government on charges of alleged treasonable felon, took a new twist today January 12, 2017 following the cancellation of the controversial secret trial by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja, Nigeria's capital.

The judge presiding over the case, Ms Binta Fatima Nyako made the ruling before the commencement of proceedings for the day. The judge stated that her ruling is based on the strong opposition of the defendants (Nnamdi Kanu and co) against the move by the federal government for a secret trial during the previous court sittings.

Immediately after the judge's pronouncement, the defense counsel to the Nnamdi Kanu , Hon Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor unequivocally urged the court to  strike off the charges against his client and order for his release from detention.

"He is only exercising his right to self determination, and has even started his agitation even before the emergence of Muhammadu Buhari as the president of Nigeria," Hon Ejiofor told the honorable court, maintaining that Nnamdi Kanu poses no threat to Nigeria's seat of power.
In furtherance of his case, Barrister Ejiofor drew the attention of the court to a new bail application filed on behalf of the defendants, which is subject to the fact that the charges and accusations levelled against them "lacks merit and basic proof to substantiate their continued illegal detention."

The prosecuting counsel representing the Nigerian government, Hon S.I Labaran immediately objected against the bail application of the defendants, noting that the 1st defendant (Nnamdi Kanu) possesses dual citizenship and may flee the country on his release.

However, the judge, Ms Nyako rebuked the objection of the counsel to the federal government, noting that his evidence is only based on assumption and is not enough to warrant the continued detention of the defendants. Barrister request and assured that some changes will be made on the next court sitting.

The case was however adjourned to February 10, 2017, for a ruling on the bail application and release of the defendants.

Residents, others excited, as Mbisiogu donates hospital to Imo community

Thursday, January 12, 2017

IT WAS commendation galore as a multi-million-naira hospital built and equipped by a renowned Imo State-born philanthropist was commissioned and handed over to Umuchima community in Ideato Local Government Area of Imo State on January 4, 2017.

Leading in the praises was the Federal Government and the Governor of Imo State, OwelleRochasOkorocha, who expressed gratitude to Mr. Festus Mbisiogu, Chief Executive Officer of Blue Diamonds Logistics, China, for donating the hospital.

Special guest of honour and Minister of Women Affairs and Social Development, Senator Aisha Junnai Al-Hassan, praised Mbisiogu for his kind gesture in building and donating the hospital.

She said the humanitarian effort was an indication of his love for his community, especially women and children who would be the major beneficiaries of the project.

She said the project was in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s vision and programme on health care, adding that the Federal Government was willing to partner with individuals and corporate entities exploiting the policies on health care and other sectors for the betterment of their communities.

The minister enjoined wealthy Nigerians to emulate Mbisiogu and reach out to their various communities in areas that would be beneficial to the generality of the people.

Speaking also, Governor RochasOkorocha, who was represented by the Commissioner for Health, Women Affairs and Social Development, NgoziNjoku, praised Mbisiogu for his foresight in building and donating the hospital without any financial help from the state or Federal Government.

Okorocha noted that health was key to the existence and well being of the society, said the modern health centre would ease the problem of the primary health care in the community as well as reduce maternal mortality rate.

In his speech, Mbisiogu recalled the genesis of the philanthropy. He said while growing up, his mother related to him how she lost her second son, who was sick because there was no available health centre in their community.

“Before she could take her son to Urualla where there was an existing health centre, the child had died,” he said.
Mbisiogu said since then he had nursed the dream to build a befitting hospital for his community so as to forestall such occurrences.

He thanked God, the community and particularly the Umuchima Women Organisation for their support in seeing to the actualisation of his dreams.
President-General of UWO, Dr. (Mrs.) B.N. Ubbaonu, described the health centre as a timely, worthy and miraculous gift from God through Mbisiogu.

She said: “For over 10 years, Mbisiogu has been sharing over 200 bags of rice to indigent people every Sunday before Christmas. He also paid school fees for many in the community.”

She described the Blue Diamond boss as a worthy son of Ideato that other people should emulate and celebrate.
The ceremony drew many dignitaries, who praised the project, which was single-handedly executed by Mbisiogu.

Besides the hospital, Mbisiogu has also built and donated over 42 pipe-borne water boreholes to various communities in Ideato. Through this gesture, the people in the entire communities in Ideato South LGA have stopped trekking five kilometres to fetch water from the Orasi River, which is the source of water for the communities.
Mbisiogu has also promised to extend the water borehole to Ideato North LGA

Super Eagles captain and former Chelsea midfielder John Obi Mikel explained why he accepted to move to Chinese Premier League to team up with Tianjin Teda. He said it was done to help Nigeria’s push to be at the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
Mikel had been primarily snubbed from playing with the first team by Chelsea Coach, Antonio Conte, but he still remained a regular for the national team

So he decided to move to Tianjin Teda on a three year deal so that he could get some playing time.
Mikel said during an interview with Owngoalnigeria.com:

“I could easily have stayed in Chelsea for the remaining six months of my contract but it won’t be in the best interest of my nation, as they need me match fit when the World Cup 2018 qualifiers resume”.
“It wasn’t an easy decision to make but I seriously need matches to stay fit for Nigeria.
Nigerians don’t deserve to miss out of the World Cup after back to back failure to qualify for the Africa Cup of Nations”.

John Fashanu endorses Mikel Obi's move to China

Thursday, January 12, 2017

Former England international and current football analyst John Fashanu has endorsed former Chelsea player John Mikel Obi's move to the Far East where he last week signed for Chinese Super League side, Tianjin Teda.

Mikel was this season snubbed by Chelsea coach Antonio Conte, and last week he signed with the Chinese club despite receiving plenty offers from European clubs. Fashanu believes financial security is important for footballers.

"It is great for anybody who has the capacity to go abroad into the western or the eastern world," “I'm very happy, financial security in the game of football; I must tell is quite easy to achieve.
“As long as he knows that the football played there [China] is not same as the football in Europe or back home. Good luck to him, I'm happy.' Fashanu told Goal.
“We must always remember that some players are playing for money, wealth, financial security. Some players also play because they want to achieve the greatest honours. Because you have somebody who wants to play for money, doesn't make him a bad person. Some players would say I had no opportunity to go and play in China.
''I could have gone to China to make millions. Looking back in retrospect maybe I should have gone to play in China and made billions over there and not play in England. “So each player has his own individual choice

National organizing secretary of Labour Party (LP), Barr Chinedu L. Adili Ubah Defects to apc

Wednesday, January 11, 2017

In what seems like political tsunami raging all over Anambra state with the latest move of Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah into APC, the National Publicity Secretary of Labour Party (LP) , Barr Chinedu L. Adili-Ubah left Labour Party and join APC.

In his words he said;

"I believe now is the right time for total reintegration of Igbo nation into national affairs. We are tired of playing opposition and being docile while we are left out in national interest. With the resolution of great Igbo sons and daughters to join APC people like Dr Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah whom I not only respect so much, i have been remodeled by his good heart and epicable qualities geared towards positive transformation on human, social and infrastructural facelift. Also considering the attention Federal Government is now giving to the region in terms of infrastructural development, we all have to fall into a cause that will uplift and promote the interest of Ndigbo.

My move is in line with political philosophy of Late Dim Odumegwu Ojukwu when he came back from exile and champion the cause of total reintegration of Igbo region into Nigeria political mainstream. In doing this, He ranked with Buhari, Saraki and others to be the BOT chairman of the then APP which later metamorphosis to ANPP. If you truly love Igbo nation, then we have to stop playing politics of backyard".

With this latest move, it is now becoming a reality that our people have come to terms that national politics is very important in the life of Igbo nation. LETS SEAT ON SAME TABLE TO DISCUSS NDI IGBO.... Umu nnem muru nu anya ka azu na oke anaghi eri ife onye mu anya.

Eastern youths drums support for Orji Uzor Kalu as wind of IGBO presidency blows in APC 2019

Wednesday, January 11, 2017

-comrade kelvin ezedimbu

The greatest gift Nigeria will ever receive is electing an Igbo man from the eastern region of the country to be president. For this reason vast majority of the Igbo youths, Igbo organisations in Nigeria and diaspora want to produce a formidable Nigeria president one that will be seen as president for all and not president for a region or tribe. Our lives begin to end the day we become silent about things that matters to the Igbo presidency in Nigeria. The Igbo which is the easterner part of Nigeria have great leaders which are in the fore front of Nigeria politics such leaders as former governor of abia state and now a chieftain in the ruling party All progressive congress Dr Orji Uzor Kalu (OUK), the deputy senate president, Ike Ekweremadu , senator Pius Anyim, prof Pat Utomi for chief of general staff, retired commodore Ebitu Ukiwe, former senate president Ken Nnamani,Gov of Imo state Rochas okorocha and many others put together can all come together and support one of our own now the wind of Igbo presidency is blowing towards our region now we have a strong Igbo leader in the ruling party APC in the person of Orji kalu come 2019 we can do it ,yes we can. Igbo’s are the salt nation Nigeria and we should not forget what his excellency Orji kalu said is 2011 ” I am not saying that an Igbo man should be president……it matters where the president comes from, because all segment of the society have been president. People continue letting Ndigbo down because they think we were defeated during the war, which is not true… And until an Igbo man rules this country to balance power of equity and fairness, this country will not move anywhere. The eastern region lacks good roads, infrastructure and jobs for graduates and only an Igbo man can get all this done for the youths. Recently the former Gov governor of abia state Orji Uzor kalu that governed the state from 1999-2007 and one term presidential contestants Nigeria joined the ruling party APC and ever since then there have been series of sides talks that the Igbo youths have started drumming support for him to run for presidency come 2019 as he is the only Igbo leader that have the welfare of the youths at heart comrade Ikenna Tassie president of Eastern youths in diaspora made this press release in a telephone conversation from California saying Igbo’s youth bringing out Orji kalu is one thing the youths will never regret . Also speaking with some press men at a youth conference in port harcourt theme” Youths and Their Roles in Nigeria politics”. Comrade kelvin ezedimbu the media spokesman of hope alive group expresses confidence in his excellency Orji uzor kalu to run for Igbo presidency saying that the Igbo youths in eastern region jubilated when they heard that he is now in the ruling party APC and that their hope and full supports are for him alone that this is not the time that any other Igbo leader can come and cause distractions because of money exchange hands, comrade kelvin also debunked the statement made by Gov Rochas okorocha which he says that he cannot hand over power to the youths but he expects the youths to vote for him……! that how old was former president olusegun obasanjo when he first ruled Nigeria, how old was president Buhari when he first ruled Nigeria, they were all youths. For equity and fairness demand a Nigeria president of Igbo region extraction. As the country’s need for transformational leadership, rotation of power of equity that will balance hand and eradicate corruption and brings the country’s economy at his top. The northern have ruled severally the western have ruled, the southern have also ruled while the eastern part of the country have been marginalised and denied power severally and they forgot that salt of the nation is the east. Nigeria needs a man who is detribalised and in my opinion the eastern youths have suggested that Orji uzor kalu (ouk) which is the voice of Ndigbo to the bull by horn from the ruling party in APC and contest for the Igbo presidency in Nigeria come 2019 this alone will keep the country in peace and harmony, we need no other Igbo leader we need no distraction, because any other leader that comes up will be seen as a traitor and distractions to the Igbo’s . There have been tremedeous defect of the PDP to the APC ever since since his excellency Orji uzor kalu joined the ruling party, in his state abia a lot of elites have joined the party Hon Emeka wogu former labour minister, Sen Nkechi Nwogu, chief Benjamin kalu, chief Amaobi ogah, chief Bawas Akwukaegbu,Hon ezechikamnayo former commissioner of information and too many to mention have also started drumming support for his excellency to contest for president as the only Igbo man that is comfortable in the midst of the yourba’s , Hausa’s and the ijaw tribes without any ill feelings. More importantly, stability of Nigeria politics requires at this junction in Nigeria’s history that the president of Nigeria be someone who has the credentials to lead the country, but also someone of the Igbo region because for almost 43 years no Igbo have ever ruled Nigeria not that all those ruling us are far better or intelligent than us . The Igbo’s are hard working people, they are the salt of the nation because you can find them in all part of Nigeria and if you quote us wrong let the Igbo’s come together and shut down their businesses just for a day and see what will happen in Nigeria? Power of equity and fairness need balance itself come 2019 and all hands at Igbo region points towards only one great Igbo leader Orji Uzor Kalu (OUK), he contested in 2007 and came 3rd and was the biggest threat to many contestants, late Chukwuemeka odimegwu came 4th . So now he is in the ruling party gives hope and credit to the Igbo’s at large to drum support for him as the only Igbo leader going for us in 2019. ” Orji uzor kalu has always put the Igbo’s first in whatever he is doing. This is the only Igbo man that always see to the welfare of the Igbo’s in diaspora-chief Emeka c kalu ceo stecoll group of company and also a guber candidate in 2015 general elections in abia state and also abia hopeful 2019 based in Texas USA says in an interactive phone call with him from USA . Eastern youths in Nigeria and disapora have drum their supports for Orji uzor kalu and have even started making pledges to support his campaign team come 2019 for we believe in his words” I am a trustee for a better tomorrow”, and in me is sincerity of purpose and tenacity of service. I am primarily responsible and accountable to the people”. We urge all Igbo’s here in Nigeria and diaspora to know “it is not possible to be in favour of justice for some people and not be in favour of justice for all people”. Yes we can! The Igbo’s can do it……

OUK 2019 in APC let’s keep hope alive

An igbo man can only become Nigerian's president if he joins apc – kalu

Tuesday, January 10, 2017

Former Governor of Abia State, Orji Uzor Kalu has claimed that an Igbo man can only emerge as President of Nigeria, if he joins the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).

Kalu stated this while speaking to some political office holders, who served in his administration at his Igbere country home in Bende council area.

He urged them to join the APC, to ensure the party wins the entire South East zone in the 2019 general elections.

Kalu also insisted that APC was not a Hausa party, neither did it belong to President Muhammadu Buhari.

“Let me tell you this clearly, APC is not an Hausa party as they have been deceiving the people. APC is not owned by President Muhammadu Buhari; the possibility of an Igbo man becoming the president of this country is clearer in APC than in any other party including the PDP.

“When we formed the PDP, some people were saying it was a Hausa party as they are saying of APC now, but it was the same PDP that produced former Presidents Olusegun Obasanjo and Goodluck Jonathan who are southerners”, he said
