The group urge all the Igbo people to work together towards ensuring unity within the region.
The president general of Ohanaeze Ndigbo, John Nnia-Nwodo, while speaking to Igbo groups based in Abuja on Tuesday, February 9, said no reasonable father will disown his child publicly.
No reasonable father would disown his child publicly be¬cause he misbehaved, pointing out that Nigerians should also ask themselves question regarding the circumstances that forced these youths to react the way they are doing.”
Nnia-Nwodo said the challenges of Ndigbo in Nigeria are enormous and only unity and focus can bring solution.
He also called on the people to forgive one another and bury all grievances for a positive difference.
Nnia-Nwodo said: “The goodwill and enthusiasm of the people on his emergence would only be the catalyst that would fire his determination to serve the people diligently.”
Adding that the security agencies handling issues concerning the Igbo people with some level of double standard, Nnia-Nwodo said there is urgent need to harmonize leadership among the people from the South-East region.
He also warned that the persistent marginalization of Ndigbo in the country would be a thing of the past if the people take their destiny in their hands and take their God given entrepreneurial skill home.
