Patrick Chukwu A Father Of Eight Arrested In Enugu Over A Car Theft

 Patrick Chukwu a 61 years old father of eight  has been apprhended by the Enugu state police for stealing car.


 patrick Chukwu, is an indigen of Ezeagu Local Government Area of Enugu State, but resides in the Trans-Ekulu area of Enugu metropolis.


Punch reports that Chukwu was apprehended on February 7, while attempting to move a Peugeot 505 salon car from where it was parked beside a magistrate’s court in Enugu.

It was however discovers  that the suspect had already opened the door of the vehicle with a ‘master key’, and was about driving off, when he was caught


The spokesperson for Enugu State Police Command, Mr. Ebere Amaraizu, while narrating the incidents , said Chukwu’s arrest followed intelligence information.


  “The said suspect had earlier gained entrance into the Peugeot 505 salon car with his master key, and was disconnecting the ignition wire and about taking off when the security operatives rounded him up,” Amaraizu said.


 Chukwu said he ventured into crime to make ends meet, after it became very difficult for him to fend for his large family.



 The suspect said he intended to raise money by stealing and selling the car.


 Amaraizu said, “The suspect, in his reaction, maintained that it was hardship that led him into the act. He said he wanted to steal and sell the car.”


 Amaraizu added that Chukwu also confessed that he was a motor mechanic.


“He added that he used to be a motor mechanic, but later switched over to yam selling business, which was not moving for him, hence he decided to make ends meet through car stealing,” Amaraizu said, adding that the suspect also pleaded for forgiveness.


He said that Enugu state police had delve into investigating  the matter.
