The Chairman of Capital Oil and Gas Industries Limited and Publisher of The AUTHORITY Newspapers, Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah, has been named the Grand Patron of Nigerians in China.
Nigerians in the Asian country, who gave the award to the business mogul, also recognised him as “Youth Ambassador of all Nigerians in China”.
While decorating Ubah with the double awards at the 160,000 capacity FC Ifeanyi Ubah Stadium in Nnewi, Anambra State, the leader of Nigerians in China.
Mr. Elochukwu Chikwelu, said that Ubah has been a good brother and friend to Nigerians in China, especially the people of Anambra State.
The event was attended by former Senate President, Ken Nnamani; former governor of Anambra State and Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, Senator Uche Ekwunife and prominent Nigerian politicians.
Prominent Nollywood actors also witnessed the presentation at the Games Village during the recent Youth Music Festival and Talent Hunt held in Nnewi, Anambra State.
According to Chikwelu, “We are here to honour Dr. Patrick Ifeanyi Ubah (Ebubechukwu-Uzo Nnewi) because of his brotherly disposition to Nigerians in China. “He is the only Nigerian that whenever he visits China, will look for his Nigerian and Igbo brothers.
“He secures bail for our people held in prisons in China. We flew down from China just to tell him in the presence of Nigerians, and to let him know that we appreciate what he has been doing for our people, especially Anambra indigenes in China. “Apart from decorating him as our Grand Patron, we also recognise Ubah as the Youth Ambassador of all Nigerians in China,” he said.
In his response, Ubah expressed appreciation to the group and promised to continue to add value to humanity.
